In Media Res is a collaborative artists’ book that explores the shifting relationships between the body, culture, material and imagination. Bringing together collage, photography, archival imagery, colour, form and experimental print processes, the artists transform familiar images into strange and ambiguous compositions. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative or single interpretation, the book embraces chance, collaboration and visual experimentation, allowing meaning to emerge through the process of making and through the viewer’s own associations. Moving between dreams, myths, historical imagery and fantastical worlds, In Media Res creates a liminal space where reality and imagination overlap, encouraging us to question ideas of identity, authorship, memory and the boundaries between the organic and the constructed.
