Her story “In the Clouds” is about sinking cities, displaced people living on boats and people who love their island so much that they save it from sinking and ascend into the clouds. They themselves, however, can no longer enjoy the beauty of their “Wonderland”, for they too have been expelled. The terrible visions of the future coupled with fantasy, are taken away by the simplicity of language and the magic inherent in this story.
