Poetrics – Stefano Calligaro

Stefano Calligaro presents a selection of his literal “poetical-tricks”, an ongoing body of work consisting of modified words and common English terms. These silly yet clever verbal glitches challenge established social and cultural codes through visual simplicity and a precise, deliberate (mis)use of language. The original aim of the series is to become a “visual ecology of signs and meanings”, in contrast to the sense of hyper-spectacle permeating art and culture today. “Poetricks” are simultaneously artworks, minimal poems, and tools used by the artist to question and redefine the essence, meaning, and boundaries of art, language, and poetry.
