This special Japanese tear-off calendar, designed by Carsten Nicolai and his long-time collaborator Nibo, is aesthetically so striking that we got it again this year. Each page of wonderfully fine paper stands for one day and must be removed to reveal the next. Just get rid of the past day and start fresh with the new sounds to us like a good mantra for 2024! Each page also reveals the lunar calendar, the ancient eastern constellation system known as “twenty-eight Mansions”, Horoscopes, the traditional Rokuyo’s six-day Japanese calendar, the sexagenary cycle (also known as the twelve animal signs and five elements), the age of the moon, as well as a record of the ebb and flow of the tide.
