27 Aug do you read me?! x Flaneur Festival
August 31, 11 am to September 1, 7.30 am at the HKW
Everyone who is keen on not-just-another-ordinary-launch-party swing by at the HKW for the very first Flaneur Festival celebrating their eighth issue ‘Kangding Road/Wanda Road – Taipei’ from August 31st, 11 am until September 01st, 7.30 am. Within these 20.5 hours you’ll get the chance to participate at artist Zo Lin’s extended weed-processing workshop from collecting to classifying and preparing a traditional tea ceremony, you can follow artist Snow Huang’s sound walk through the Tiergarten listening to hitherto unheard letters of victims of the ‘White Terror’, join the discussions about publishing as a tool of activism within and beyond Taiwan’s democracy movements, or have a singsong with queer video and performer artist Cheng-Ta Yu at Shasha’s Piano Bar… Of course there is plenty more to discover, like the Reading Room where we are delighted to present a small range of books and magazines which swirl around the Festivals main themes together with our Taipei friends Pong Ding – and not to forget: The entry is free!
Read more about what it actually means to stretch the idea of publishing a magazine to its very limits in our exclusive interview with Grashina Gabelmann from Flaneur here.
