Though Left traditions once offered poor and working-class people tools to resist domination, today’s “organized Left” and its attendant lifestylism often default to moralism, social policing, and reactive protest rather than imagining systems that make such protests unnecessary. Drawing from the author’s deep influence on global revolutionary Left circles, the book uses an anti-authoritarian lens to examine how categorization, identitarianism, and entrenched authoritarian logics limit the Left’s emancipatory potential. Instead, it proposes moving beyond the left–right paradigm altogether, urging readers to envision freer futures that transcend oppressive social constructs and expand the possibilities for human liberation.
