With a redesign and a host of new columns, this issue opens with a portfolio of women living and working in Berlin, photographed by Lukas Städler. Our cover stories feature Julia Windischbauer in the season’s finest fashion, and a second cover shot by GDR photography icon Ute Mahler. Editor-in-chief Nicole Urbschat’s three-part exploration of women photographers in the GDR brings overlooked voices back into focus. Elsewhere, we meet writers Juliane Liebert, Ronya Othmann and Dilek Mayatürk, speak to model agent Eva Gödel about the changing image of the German woman, hear from Maria Grazia Chiuri about her new role at Fendi and take a closer look at Demna’s new Gucci. Our new visual column, ACHTUNG Uomo, features actor Nick Romeo Reimann in the season’s suits, while Zugabe celebrates the return of the high heel. Our columns span fashion, culture and sustainability in Mode von A bis Z, to Carmen Maiwald’s new sustainability column featuring green pioneer Gabriela Hearst, Silke Wichert’s Reklame, now making the leap from digital to print, and a conversation with Vogue Germany editor-in-chief Kerstin Weng. Finally, we look to Belgium for Wonne Scrayen’s exposé on Marina Yee, the overlooked member of the Antwerp Six whose influence on modern fashion deserves a closer look.
